Often we don't have the time to pause and not this. These are flying fast and we're becoming busier and busier. Now some might ask, Why sketch and not just take photos? I always say that I don't want to take the little things for granted. To the sketching has been my companion but has enabled me the saber life's beautiful detail.

In 2011 I started bringing a sketchbook as a way to slow down and savor the scenery around me. My name is ELISA, and I'm a watercolor artist. Welcome to Class: Hello, everyone and welcome to sketch her life class. I will be featuring students' sketches and stories over at my website Image: Japanese Lantern in the Japanese Garden (pen and watercolor on sketchbook)ġ. Note: Your work is going to inspire me and other people around the world. Write a short caption (1-3 sentences) about the story behind your sketch and what makes it meaningful and inspiring for you.It can either be just inked sketches or finished watercolor pages. Share one or as many of your daily sketches as you would like.Express that moment by sketching loosely in pen and painting expressively in watercolor. Ask yourself what makes that particular object, person or scene inspiring and meaningful to you. Notice and observe anything and everything around you. Choose a subject that comes from your daily experiences in life like your loved ones, people you meet, things you collect, animals, nature, work, neighborhood, trips to places, etc. Make sketching a part of your life by bringing your sketchbook wherever you go.
